Grad Hosted Speaker! Mark your calendars!

Hi Grads and Post-Docs!

Our Grad Hosted Speaker, Dr. Margaret Lowman (aka 'Canopy Meg'), will be here next week!

She'll be giving the department seminar talk on "Using Canopy Science as a "Hook" to Conserve Forests" on Wednesday March 15th, at 3:30pm in the Big Data Hub (formerly known as IRMACS). As per the norm, there will be a social with food and drink at Club Ilia after her talk.

On Thursday morning, she'll be giving a career based talk entitled "Life in the Treetops, the "mis-adventures" of a woman in field biology" from 9:30 - 11:30am in B9242. Lunch will be provided. For catering numbers, if you could please let us know if you'll be attending the seminar/lunch via this survey http://websurvey.sfu.ca/survey/271926657 that'd be great!

She'll be available on Wednesday to meet with lab groups, individuals, teams, friends etc., so shoot either Kyle or myself an e-mail if you would like to meet with her, and include your preferred time and place of meeting.

We nominated and elected Dr. Lowman, and she sounds awesome ( http://canopymeg.com/, http://www.calacademy.org/staff-member/meg-lowman-phd ) so please use this opportunity to pick her brain :)

See you all soon!
